Senior Hydrogeologist

Our client is one of the countrys most successful multidisciplinary practices with a diverse range of schemes. As they continue to expand their successful business which comprises of Property, Waste, Minerals and work across the Environmental Sectors they are seeking to appoint an experienced Hydrogeologist.
Working across a number of areas of expertise in particular mining, this division provides a worldwide service, which includes mineral resource evaluation, mining engineering, mineral processing & metallurgy, mine waste management, geotechnical engineering, water management, environmental & social management, mine closure & post-mining regeneration.
They are seeking a Senor Hydrogeologist to join their Water Resources team in the North Midlands. The team is involved in a diverse range of projects undertaking hydrogeological and hydrological activities on mining, waste and construction projects throughout the UK as well as overseas.
The appointment will be at Senior level reporting to the Technical Director in charge of the group and provide technical and managerial input to the team.
Responsibilities will include:
" Researching and analysing geological and hydrogeological conditions, groundwater modelling and interpretation, calculations, etc in connection with groundwater impact assessment, pollution studies, plume dispersal, well yields, groundwater inflows and pumping requirements.
" Specifying and supervising groundwater investigations, liaising with contractors and contract supervision, undertaking field tests and data collection.
" Preparation of plans, reports and other deliverables, contribution to team reports and quality control of output for which you will be responsible.
" Managing your tasks, time, workload and productivity to efficiently manage and deliver projects for which you have delegated responsibility.
" Managing staff and project teams under your supervision, project management with responsibility for project costs and deliverables, dealing with clients, billing.
Regular travel overseas will be required, mainly for short duration missions (5 to 15 days) though longer periods may be required from time to time.

You will be a team player and have the ability to help, motivate, develop and inspire others. Technical expertise, qualifications and experience are of course essential but attitude is paramount. It is expected that you will be:-
" Education to degree level (or equivalent) with a first degree and/or masters qualification in hydrogeology or related subject.
" 5 - 10 years experience including mining experience with hydrological knowledge being advantageous.
" A good knowledge of groundwater modelling techniques and experience with the commercially available modelling packages.
" Field experience and a willingness to work on overseas assignments.
" Ideally be of Chartered status with an appropriate professional body.
Experience of working on mining projects overseas is desirable but not essential and familiarity with well construction and pumping test and groundwater modelling packages is essential together excellent numeracy skills.
You will be an excellent communicator, both face to face with clients and in the production of clear and accurate reports. You will also possess supervisory and project management skills together with being able to train and mentor members of staff within the Hydrogeology Team.
As they work throughout the UK a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
