This leading consultancy work across the globe providing professional technical services to a host of clients. As their business continues to grow and acquire some of the industrys leading names so they are keen to strengthen their talent across their Highways and Transportation offering.
Their reputation within highways and transportation has resulted in an extensive portfolio of high profile projects with clients that include the Highways Agency, National Contractors and Local Authorities. Currently their portfolio of national projects is an enviable one and they are keen to continue adding to this quite signficantly.
They are seeking a leader to run a key area of their business with the role reporting to their Managing Director. You will become part of the Senior Management Team in their Highways business and be a key member of a large and expanding group. You will be instrumental in ensuring the continuous improvement and delivery of excellent design services throughout all stages of major project development and implementation.
It will be expected that you will have spent considerable time working with the Highways Agency and have an outstanding history of delivery as well as demonstrating leadership and operational management throughout your career.
" A degree in Civil Engineering.
" Chartered Member of ICE or equivalent.
" Extensive experience in the highway and structures sector
" Extensive experience of liaising/negotiating with client representatives and staff at a senior level
" Thorough understanding of the DMRB
" Good working knowledge of different contract types and procurement options.
" Able to produce well-presented and technically accurate reports
" Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice
" Capability to manage tasks and costs and deliver programmed work on time and under budget including adoption of EVA techniques
" Good IT skills
" Extensive experience of motivating and driving delivery teams
" Confident and with proven interpersonal and communication skills.
" Experience of ECI or Design and Build projects
" Experience of construction supervision
" Knowledge of HA PCF
" Knowledge of local authority interfaces
" Health and Safety training in the infrastructure sector
In more detail the posiiton will involve:
" Overseeing and providing direction to a key operational area of the UK Highways business.
" Responsible for building capability and retaining talent within the operation.
" Safety Leadership at the highest level.
" Management of operational function who will be providing preparation of highway designs at feasibility, optioneering and detailed design stages to ensure compliance with QA processes.
" Management of work implementation/construction
" Providing technical direction to other talented design engineers and/or technicians
" Liaison with clients, contractors and third parties
" Interfacing with other engineering disciplines such as geotechnical, structures, railways, coastal & marine, and environmental engineers
" Financial management and monitoring
" CRM at all levels in client organisations
