Title: Senior Transport Planner
Description: SENIOR TRANSPORT PLANNER Birmingham £40k plus benefits A hugely exciting opportunity has arisen with our client a successful transportation and infrastructure consultancy. As they continue to expand their Midlands office they are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to take on a role within their Transport Planning team. Reporting to the Group Leader you will form part of a strong force in the Midlands market place which has already seen the division win project after project. This role calls for between 3-5 years experience and will focus on the Midlands area in the main. The transport planning team delivers private sector development planning services to a cross spectrum of clients including developers, retailers and house builders. For your part you will be responsible for writing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, site visits, client meetings and the supervision of both graduates and technicians. They have an enviable workload which includes a number of exciting projects including advice to studies on behalf of the Homes and Communities Agency and a large number of assessments both green field and brown field ongoing across Birmingham and the West Midlands. This team works closely with their Highways Agency team delivering a mixture of public sector transport planning work. This includes auditing Transport Assessments as well as getting involved in route strategies, planning the Highways Agency’s next phase of improvements. They are looking to double their budget from April 2015. There are a wide range of other areas of work the company are involved with including work at Snow Hill Interchange and work supporting their bid for a HS2 station. The company are hoping that the role will become a bigger one in time and are looking at this individual taking on more responsibility in work they do with the HA and taking on a position which would involve managing the HA`s expectations at monthly meetings and proposals. There would of course still be the focus on the private sector and building their workload alongside the Director.
