Title: Principal Geotechnical Engineer

As their workload continues to grow they are seeking to appoint a key member of staff to their ground engineering/geo technical engineering division. Ideally you will be a Civil Engineer who has worked across the private and public sectors with a shared passion for engineering. You will join a truly inspirational infrastructure team on some hugely successful projects covering:- the public sector, banks, property, private equity and blue chip clients. The company manage a number of projects from their Midlands hub including:- urban regeneration, housing, public transport infrastructure and public highway schemes. You will possess a sound technical and practical knowledge of soil mechanics, geo technical engineering and foundation engineering; plus some basic geo-environmental (land contamination) expertise would be an added advantage. Expertise in the analysis, design and specification of most of the following; ground investigation, earthworks, dewatering, ground improvement and reinforcement, shallow foundations, deep foundations, pile foundations, anchorages, retaining structures, slopes, embankments, soil nails, geo-technical works associated with highways, bridges, buildings and structures including soil-structure interaction. Experience in liaison with clients, local authorities, statutory bodies and other third parties, including external design team members is seen as key along with excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare reports on technical matters. You will be offered a very generous salary and benefits package and will be working with some fantastic industry mentors who will be looking at succession planning within an 18 month period.
