Title: Technical Director - Bridges
Description: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR -BRIDGES WEST YORKSHIRE 60,000 An exceptional opportunity has arisen with a well respected infrastructure consultancy in West Yorkshire. The role is seen as key to the organisation and requires a Chartered Civil Engineer to take on the leadership of their well established bridges group. The focus will be to lead projects as a Principal Engineer in the delivery of civil engineering, structural engineering and multi-disciplinary projects. You will lead and develop the structures team technical capability by developing and delivering to teams working on projects and services; you will lead on interpretation of regulations and legislation and ensure that their designs comply with policies and standards as necessary; enhance the reputation of the group within the market place as a provider of innovative and well-engineered solutions and ensure their clients have access to this service and keep all stakeholders fully informed of any technical issues and/or associated potential risks to the schemes as they arise. You will also ensure successful delivery of projects by leading and coordinating cross-discipline interfaces. Additionally provide professional and technical guidance and coaching and encourage staff self learning and development. It is expected that you will already be working with a consultancy, contractor or in local government in the UK and have the credibility to lead their technical management with key clients and stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of the relevant engineering and technical disciplines and have a vision and commitment for change. You will be accustomed to operating at a senior level and be able to demonstrate experience of being able to check and approve designs for technical accuracy. Additionally be effective in making presentations and produce informative reports as well as have the ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations. As this is seen as a pivotal role within the organisation you will be well rewarded and given the opportunity to progress quickly.
