Title: Principal/Associate Transport Modeller
Description: Principal/Associate Transport Modeller Birmingham 60,000 A truly exciting prospect has arisen with a fast expanding multidisciplinary consultancy, who are seeking to strengthen their transport modelling team in Birmingham. Their focus will be to deliver projects for local and regional public and private sector clients including Highways England, Network Rail, Local Authority Clients, Transport for West Midlands, Homes and Communities Agency and the Department for Transport. For your part you will be responsible for development and delivery of transport and economic modelling aspects for a range of medium to multi-disciplinary projects, whilst reporting to the Divisional Director. The role in more detail will involve: Developing and managing projects across a wide range of transport modelling areas including strategic modelling, micro-simulation modelling and junction operational modelling with the aim to inform transport policy and strategy, scheme appraisal and business cases and evaluation. Taking charge of teams delivering high quality technical work and for developing staff skills through on the job training and mentoring, as well as preparing technical reports and liaison with clients both locally and nationally. There will be responsible for getting involved in bid work and resolving problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives. For your part you will have a minimum of 8+ years of Transport Modelling/Planning experience together with a good understanding of the Department for Transport WebTag process and appraisal methodologies. You will possess proficiency in transport modelling with experience in microsimulation using VISSIM (including VISVAP) / PARAMICS including model development, calibration, validation and forecasting and have knowledge of VISUM and SATURN. Experience in economic modelling using WebTAG guidance and TUBA and the ability to win and deliver projects as well as act as a mentor to less experienced members of the team.
