Title: Senior Ecologist
Description: Senior Ecologist Midlands 45,000 Superb opportunity to join a world leader in design and project management across the built environment in the heart of the Midlands. Our client offers a vast range of services from planning, design, technical advice to project management and is recognised as one of the most prolific consultancies around today. Their commitment to their clients and employees has led to further expansion of their ecology team, which has given rise to a role for an experienced Senior Ecologist. You will join the ecology team which comprises of a range of dedicated professionals who are engaged in a wide variety of exacting, high-profile and challenging projects. As a company they deliver ecological assessment, mitigation and enhancement across a broad range of sectors, including some of the biggest infrastructure schemes and most complex projects in the country. You will manage existing major confirmed projects, develop new business and give clear, consistent and considered advice to achieve project goals and benefit biodiversity. In more detail the role will involve coordinating ecological support in particular to their thriving highways business, maintaining high standards and consistency of work and managing the resource requirements for this work stream. Taking responsibility for managing ecological elements on a range of other major projects from survey planning through to mitigation implementation. Also monitoring budgets, controlling expenditure and meeting agreed deadlines. For your part you will possess extensive technical experience in a range of ecological and protected species surveys and be a holder of Natural England personal survey licences, with a bat licence being a distinct advantage. Proven success of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and building a diverse network of contacts. Strong experience of providing ecological advice in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects. Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable experience of liaising with and managing clients and developing business.
