Title: Senior Civil Engineer
Description: Senior Civil Engineer/Associate Birmingham 55k plus benefits Our client, a fast moving and expanding consultancy are seeking to appoint a key member of staff to their infrastructure team. The role calls for a Senior Civil Engineer / Associate to join the Civils team who is keen to embrace the role of Technical Lead for Major Highways. For your part you will provide technical expertise to ensure that highway designs are prepared in accordance with current legislation, best practice, council policies and to the highest technical standards. You will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance regarding highway maintenance to ensure delivery to agreed timescales. In addition, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your own team, providing technical mentoring to more junior team members. It is hoped that you will ideally have 10 years' relevant post graduate experience with a strong knowledge of infrastructure design, both highways and drainage. Additionally a thorough understanding of Section 278 design and approval processes as well as a detailed knowledge of highway design standards DMRB, Manual for Streets and NRSWA. Experience in the design of commercial developments including infrastructure, external works and drainage including SuDS and a knowledge of highway and drainage adoption processes and legal requirements for S104, S278 and S38. You will possess a comprehensive understanding and use of software packages including AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Micro Drainage together with strong communication and negotiation skills. You will have experience of meeting attendance to discuss issues with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and other statutory bodies and the ability to lead a team and manage resources and deliver projects on time and to a budget is key. In time you will be able to build and establish new client relationships to help develop and grow the business.
