Our client provides technical and commercial advisory services for projects that require project finance, including Grantors (procurement advisory), equity investors (buy and sell side due diligence), and lenders (lenders due diligence and operational monitoring). As well as understanding and considering the interests of all infrastructure stakeholders. They also support government agencies, regulators and other private parties across a number of regulated sectors.
The company provide strategic and procurement advisory in all phases of the business life cycle, informed by our operational knowledge and deep functional expertise. By integrating both strategic and technical expertise they serve the “whole client” from the executive leadership to those who procure and deliver projects and operations.
They are regarded by financial institutions as one of the leading providers of buy and sell side technical advisory services across transport-related infrastructure transactions, and pursue these opportunities in line with the market.
Driven by increasing demand for their services and an expanding portfolio of multi-million pound projects, they are seeking a talented Principal Consultant, with significant relevant experience, to join their busy team in London.
For your part you will be a highly numerate individual with previous experience of working on infrastructure projects, an interest in commercial and risk analysis and the drive to learn and progress quickly.
It is expected that you will have experience of leading commercial and/or technical due diligence activities in one or more of the sectors in which they operate (rail, highways, aviation, utilities and social infrastructure);
In addition experience of preparing technical reports for public and private sector clients;
Also you will have served as project manager or technical lead for a significant volume of high quality profitable client work;
Effectively present high quality technical work to clients;
Lead the preparation of bids and marketing materials to win new projects for the group and Pro-actively develop skills both on the job and from formal training and share knowledge with colleagues.
A graduate in Economics you will possess experience in leading transactions advice (commercial and/or technical) activities in one the infrastructure market place and have a willingness to support transactions in other sectors.
Experience of leading reviews of contracts, payment mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, asset management and/or risk assessment and modelling;
Excellent analytical skills;
Advanced user of spreadsheets, including a clear understanding and commitment to modelling best practice;
Experience of producing high quality technical reports for public and/or private sector clients;
An ability to work effectively as part of a team and to share ideas and expertise with team members to support ongoing learning and improvement.
You will have experience in PPP/PFI contracts; and industry experience within one of the sectors the company operate, or within a financial institution (e.g. providers of equity / debt to projects requiring project finance).
