||PRINCIPAL/TEAM LEADER - HIGHWAYS
£60,000 plus benefits
Our client, a world leader in the infrastructure environment with a strong highways bias are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Principal Highways Engineer / Team Leader to support their North West multi-disciplinary engineering and project management teams.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of nationally significant projects including strategic highways, local roads and rail for public and private sector clients.
The division you will join is a sizeable group of individuals who require a strong Principal Engineer to grow their teams further, and help guide the development of others to bring excellence to their clients.
This role will be particularly suited to someone with experience of Highways England projects, and the Highways England Project Control Framework, as much of the teams workload is centred around this.
You will be responsible for a number of areas including delivering engineering services within an engineering environment which may include (but not limited to); scheme investigation, structural inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility and outline design, detailed design, construction inspection / supervision, contract preparation, stakeholder engagement / management, statutory undertaker engagement / management, traffic order making;
•Leading the delivery of technical teams and technical outputs within project teams;
•To monitor the expenditure and financial commitment against projects and to ensure that Project Financial Reviews are undertaken and are completed, to show actual and forecast expenditure;
•To effectively manage risk and to implement strategies, monitoring and reviewing procedures to minimise the impact of any occurrence against the project and the Business;
•Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners, customers and clients;
•Supervision and development of staff including the provision of technical advice;
•Responsible for people management of engineering / project management teams, including effective communication and engagement, performance management, employee development, recruitment, retention, absence management etc;
•Responsibility for technical excellence and innovation across the project team;
•Technical input to the agreement of project briefs, proposals and deliverables with Project Managers.
