Title: Head of Structural Engineering
Description: Head of Structures Manchester 90,000 An outstanding opportunity has been created to lead a dedicated group of Consultants within this international multidisciplinary group of Engineers. The company deliver a wide range of schemes and require good technical management and leadership of their core disciplines, seeing this as essential. The company are in need of a truly inspiring leader to grow the team and work both nationally and internationally with the group across the building structures field. The role will also demand a level of risk mitigation during the bid and delivery stage of projects. As head of the group you will play a key role in driving the technical capability of the regional, national and European teams. The role will provide a client facing structural lead for the region and ensure that the group maintains the highest technical standards, client service and levels of quality. You will manage Principals and ensure the team performs to their optimum level as well as explore new areas of technical capability and previously untested clients and sectors. In more detail the role will involve the technical direction of the regional discipline in conjunction with the UK technical lead and essentially raising the profile of the team within the industry, taking part in panel reviews, regional competitions and press reports. Key to the role will be the ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development as well as provide technical resources in collaboration with the group and work closely with other disciplines. For your part you will have a strong technical background in structural design, construction and procurement and be a Chartered Engineer. You will be experienced in leading building structures teams through all stages of work winning, design and procurement and the ability to nurture excellent relationships with clients, with an ability to generate business, resolve problems and exceed client expectations. Additionally a powerful communicator with good people skills and be an organised individual who can truly make a difference.
