Title: Senior Air Quality Consultant
Description: Senior Air Quality Consultant Birmingham 35,000 Interesting prospect to join a fast moving multidisciplinary consultancy who are expanding their centrally based Birmingham office. The role calls for an experienced Senior Air Quality Consultant who can proactively contribute to their in-house technical work, ensuring that it is of the quality expected and required by both internal and external clients. You will have a technical background in science or environmental science with a substantial experience of working within an environmental consultancy. You will be able to demonstrate experience in predictive dispersion modelling techniques and air quality assessment, with comprehensive knowledge of Air Quality legislation, guidance and practice. The role requires a close working relationship with other air quality, noise, land quality, water and waste management specialists, and the provision of support and advice across the business. The position requires a Senior Consultant who is able to apply commercial and project management skills to ensure effective execution and delivery of air quality projects and the air quality elements of multi-disciplinary projects through planning and post-consent/delivery phases. Additionally support the development of their air quality knowledge base within the UK and assist in the development of new clients in key strategic markets, especially the development sector, and the industrial and energy sectors; and provide leadership and co-ordination in the production of tenders and proposals to new and existing clients. You will be expected to undertake air quality work within the context of EIA/ESIA and Environmental Permitting as well as more standalone air quality projects. Project involvement typically includes renewables and waste to energy projects, flood alleviation schemes, mixed use development schemes, as well as industrial sites. Ongoing contact with project managers, discipline lead and team leaders, and networking within the business group and company as a whole, will be key to the successful execution of the role, both in terms of winning new project work and to ensure continual involvement on current projects will be seen as key. Additionally a willingness to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams and the ability to make a difference.
