Title: Technical Director - Environmental Engineering
Description: Technical Director - Environmental Engineering 65k Leeds Our client, an international consultancy with a huge offering of technical and management services across the globe are continuing to invest massively in their environmental group. This part of the group is a leading provider in planning and environmental consultancy and advice, supporting projects at all stages from initial conception through to construction and maintenance, across the UK and internationally. As the business continues to thrive and provide advice to clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management, so this key role for a Technical Director has been created. You will be an experienced Environmental Engineer, who has the ability to support a range of projects for clients in major public and private sector organisation. In more detail your role will involve leading projects for the Environment Agency, local councils and water companies and you will also work with other disciplines within the group to deliver projects for major infrastructure clients. This will involve:- Technical leadership of flood risk appraisal projects, including oversight of hydrological, hydraulic and environmental inputs Design team leadership including co-ordinating outline and detailed design of flood risk management solutions Appraisal of flood risk costs and benefits Technical and business case reporting Technical development of less experienced engineers in the team Liaising with clients, hydraulic modellers, project managers and other design team members Project management Lead on tender development You will ideally be a Civil Engineer and MICE with experience in the development and leadership of outline and detailed design structural and non-structural solutions for flood risk management. Additionally a knowledge of preparing business cases for flood risk management scheme, as well as contract and specification preparation. A proven ability to co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams in the development of design solutions as well as in developing client relationships to explore new opportunities.
